Diversity and inclusion in gay fetish culture
Photography has always been a powerful medium for depicting different perspectives, experiences and identities. "BEYOND BOUNDARIES" is a photography project that seeks to capture the diversity of gay fetish culture and break down the stigma and misconceptions that surround it.

Gay fetish culture is often viewed as a taboo subject and is often misunderstood by those who are not part of the community. The aim of this project is to shine a light on the rich and vibrant culture of gay fetish and to celebrate the diversity of those who participate.
The team behind the project are Arjan Spannenburg and Max Govers. Spannenburg has been active in the gay fetish community for several years and wanted to create a photo series that showcases the beauty, diversity and complexity of this culture. In order to find people for this project, Spannenburg and Govers decided to travel to Antwerp in March 2023. Darklands is one of the largest and most inclusive gay fetish events in Europe, attracting people of all backgrounds, ages and physiques.
One of the key messages of "BEYOND BOUNDARIES" is that gay fetish culture is not just about sex, it's also about exploring and expressing one's identity and desires. The project challenges the notion that fetish is something to be ashamed of or something to hide, and encourages people to accept their true selves.
We are very proud to support this project. The many different fetishes of the community make the rainbow colorful. Diversity and inclusion are important concepts for all of us. As part of our community, we are aware of our task of fighting against exclusion and discrimination.
